Softball Game Preview: North Lamar Panthers vs. Pleasant Grove Hawks

For the first time this season, North Lamar will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup on Friday. They will head out to face off against the Pleasant Grove Hawks at 6:00 p.m. North Lamar has given up an average of 7 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.

North Lamar lost 14-3 to Hooks on Friday. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Pleasant Grove). Everything went their way against Chapel Hill on Tuesday as Pleasant Grove made off with a 13-4 win. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.

North Lamar's loss dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Pleasant Grove, their win bumped their record up to 7-4-1.

North Lamar came up short against Pleasant Grove in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, falling 9-4. Can North Lamar avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
