Volleyball Recap: Richardson Eagles vs. Irving Tigers
Richardson needed a changed in momentum after dropping three straight games and they got it from Winnie Goodson. Everything went the Richardson Eagles' way against the Irving Tigers on Tuesday as the Richardson Eagles made off with a 3-0 victory thanks in part to Goodson, who had 11 digs and two aces. That's the most aces she has posted since October 1st.
Richardson was especially dominant in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 25-11, 25-17, 25-17.
Mackenzie Ratcliff paced Richardson's offense, picking up eight kills. Ratcliff got some help from
Mariajose Cordero and her 22 assists.
Vivian Miller controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.
Richardson's win bumped their record up to 15-19. As for Irving, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 13-18 record this season.
After both having extra time off, Richardson and Martin will dust off their jerseys to face off against one another at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Martin will roll in looking for their 17th straight victory, something Richardson surely won't give up without a fight. Irving does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
