Softball Game Preview: Lake Worth Trojans vs. Dr. Joaquin Garcia Bulldogs

For the second straight game, Lake Worth will face off against Dr. Joaquin Garcia. The Trojans will welcome the Bulldogs at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Lake Worth has given up an average of 16 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Lake Worth fell victim to Dr. Joaquin Garcia and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They came up short against the Bulldogs, falling 18-0. The Trojans just can't catch a break and have now endured three losses in a row.

For Dr. Joaquin Garcia's part, Annabelle Brisco made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). Brisco has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.

In other pitching news, Lily Burge looked comfortable as she tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances.

Back at the plate, Ava Johnston was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Ella Mae Lipp, who went 1-for-2 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.

Dr. Joaquin Garcia was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .619. They are a perfect 8-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Dr. Joaquin Garcia's win bumped their record up to 9-7. As for Lake Worth, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-6.
