Volleyball Recap: Lawrence Free State Falls Despite Big Games from Ava Corbin and Brinley Whitney

Lawrence Free State was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 2-0 to the Gardner-Edgerton Trailblazers. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Trailblazers this season, with their most recent loss being a 3-1 defeat on Thursday.

The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 25-16.

Lawrence Free State's loss came despite strong showings from Brinley Whitney and Ava Corbin. Whitney had nine digs and one assist, while Corbin had eight digs and one assist.

Lawrence Free State's loss dropped their record down to 13-11. As for Gardner-Edgerton, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 20-8.

Lawrence Free State has already played their next contest, a 2-1 victory against De Soto on the 11th. As for Gardner-Edgerton, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 win against Schlagle on the 11th.
