Football Recap: Chaparral Bobcats vs. Lampasas Badgers

After flying high against Manor New Tech last Thursday, Chaparral came back down to earth. The Chaparral Bobcats had to suffer through a 63-20 loss at the hands of the Lampasas Badgers. The loss was the Bobcats' first of the season.

Despite the loss, Chaparral still got an impressive performance from Davian Arthur, who rushed for 48 yards and a touchdown, and also picked up 78 receiving yards. Arthur got the majority of those receiving yards when he pulled down a pass and took off for a gain of 70 yards.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Lampasas to victory, but perhaps none more so than Reed Jerome, who threw for 80 yards and four touchdowns while completing 85.7% of his passes, and also rushed for 70 yards and a touchdown on only seven carries. Another player making a difference was Bryson Roberts, who picked up 39 receiving yards and two touchdowns.

Having lost for the first time this season, Chaparral fell to 2-1. As for Lampasas, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Chaparral will have plenty of time to ponder what went wrong as they've got a bye scheduled next week. After, they'll take on Cedar Park at 7:00 p.m. on September 27th. As for Lampasas, they will challenge Wimberley at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
