Basketball Game Preview: Roselle Catholic Lions vs. St. Rose Purple Roses

The Roselle Catholic Lions will face off against the St. Rose Purple Roses on Friday. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Roselle Catholic sitting on four straight wins and St. Rose on nine.

Roselle Catholic is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Monday. They came out on top against Gill St. Bernard's by a score of 43-35. The 43-point effort marked the Lions' lowest-scoring matchup of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Meanwhile, St. Rose faced Rutgers Prep in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Monday. St. Rose beat Rutgers Prep by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 86-55. The Purple Roses have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 15 games by 22 points or more this season.

Roselle Catholic's victory bumped their record up to 12-4. As for St. Rose, their win bumped their record up to 24-7.

Roselle Catholic beat St. Rose 68-59 in their previous meeting back in March of 2023. Will Roselle Catholic repeat their success, or does St. Rose have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
