Recap: Rushville Lions vs. New Palestine Dragons
The Rushville Lions lost to the New Palestine Dragons back in November of 2022, but the Rushville Lions didn't allow the New Palestine Dragons the same satisfaction on Tuesday. Rushville came out on top in a nail-biter against New Palestine and snuck past 51-48.
Rushville got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Kylee Herbert out in front who scored 11 points. Another player making a difference was Leonie Boyer, who scored 17 points along with 5 rebounds.
Despite the loss, New Palestine still got an impressive performance from Allie Blum, who scored 23 points along with 6 steals and 5 rebounds. Blum scored a full 47.9% of New Palestine's points, the sixth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Vivian Miller was another key contributor, scoring 9 points along with 7 rebounds and 3 steals.
The win got Rushville back to even at 3-3. As for New Palestine, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Rushville will square off against Union County at 7:30 p.m. on November 29th. Union County is coming into the matchup on a four-game losing streak. New Palestine's road trip will continue as they head out to face Whiteland at 7:30 p.m. on November 25th. Allowing an average of 52.8 points per game, Whiteland has struggled on the defensive end, but that doesn't have to be the case in this game.
