Basketball Game Preview: Fillmore Flashes vs. Oakwood Owls

Having just played yesterday, the Fillmore Flashes will get right back to it and host the Oakwood Owls at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Fillmore will come into the contest with an undefeated record on the line.

While Fillmore didn't have the best season last year (they finished 9-19), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They slipped by San Fernando 37-36 on Monday.

Fillmore's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Yaneli Landin, who dropped a double-double with 14 points and ten boards. Landin has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last six times she's played. Another player making a difference was Hermelinda Ocegueda, who almost dropped a double-double with nine points and 12 rebounds.

Meanwhile, Oakwood took their game two weeks ago with ease, bagging a 56-17 victory over Vaughn. The win continues a trend for the Owls in their matchups with the White Tigers: they've now won seven in a row.

The victory got Oakwood back to even at 1-1. As for Fillmore, their win bumped their record up to 4-0.
