Softball Game Preview: Jackson City Tigers vs. Menifee County Wildcats

The Jackson City Tigers will challenge the Menifee County Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Menifee County took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Jackson City, who comes in off a win.

Jackson City made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Lee County, but they still couldn't quite topple them. Jackson City was the clear victor by a 31-20 margin over Lee County on Wednesday.

Karigan Turner was a standout: she scored five runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all seven of her plate appearances. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in April of 2024. Abigail Clemons was another key player, getting on base in five of her six plate appearances with four runs, four RBI, and two doubles.

Meanwhile, Menifee County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against Greenup County, falling 27-0.

Jackson City might still be hurting after the 21-5 defeat they got from Menifee County when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can Jackson City avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
