Kendal Walker spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and two unearned) runs on eight hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Unioto got a massive performance out of Macie Cox, who went 3-for-4 with four RBI and two runs. Maddie Tuttle was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Unioto kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 12 hits in four consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Adena waltzed into their game on Monday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They blew past the Panthers 13-1. Considering the Warriors have won nine matchups by more than nine runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Allie Bossert was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Adriana Guarnieri also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triples of the season.
Unioto pushed their record up to 12-8 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.6 runs over those games. As for Adena, their record is now 12-6.
Wednesday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Unioto hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .356. However, it's not like Adena struggles in that department as they've averaged .352. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Unioto took their victory against Adena in their previous matchup two weeks ago by a conclusive 14-4 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Shermans since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
