Softball Recap: Larkin Gets the Win

Larkin never let their opponents score on Wednesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-0 win over the Rolling Meadows Mustangs. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Royals have posted since May 22, 2025.

The result came thanks to Mackenzie Wemken's shutout, as she gave up just a hit and racked up 17 Ks. Those 17 strikeouts set a new season-high mark for her.

At the plate, Rihanna Williams was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. She has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last five times she's played. Brianna Ramos also deserves some recognition as she scored her first run of the season.

Larkin's record is now 3-4. As for Rolling Meadows, they are on a nine-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Larkin didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, an 18-2 win against Streamwood on the 9th. As for Rolling Meadows, they have also already played their next contest, a 9-7 loss against Wheeling on the 9th.
