Softball Recap: Cairo-Durham Comes Up Short

Cairo-Durham couldn't beat Germantown on Wednesday even though they stacked five runs on them in the second inning. The Mustangs lost 14-8 to the Clippers. The loss continues a trend for the Mustangs in their meetings with the Clippers: they've now lost six in a row.

Cairo-Durham's defeat dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Germantown, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 6-9 record this season.

Cairo-Durham will host Coxsackie-Athens at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Riverhawks have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.13 runs per game on average), something the Mustangs will no doubt try to take advantage of. Germantown does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
