Football Recap: Peddie Falcons vs. Hill School Rams

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Peddie). They put the hurt on the Hill School Rams with a sharp 40-20 victory on Saturday. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Falcons considering their six-point performance the game before.

Peddie had a senior duo take command as Joey Gaston rushed for 182 yards and two touchdowns on only 12 carries and Jeremiah Davis rushed for 130 yards and a pair of scores while picking up 8.1 yards per carry. Those 182 rushing yards set a new season-high mark for Gaston. Griffin Brennan made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.

Peddie was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 357 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since the start of last season.

One reason for the win was Peddie's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for three sacks. Cooper Allen was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up two himself. Brennan got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
