Basketball Preview: East Ridge Knights vs. Evans Trojans
East Ridge is 0-3 against the Trojans since December of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The East Ridge Knights will take on the Evans Trojans at 6:00 p.m. East Ridge is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last seven games.
Last Thursday, East Ridge strolled past the Knights with points to spare, taking the game 43-26.
Meanwhile, Evans came up short against the Eagles on Tuesday and fell 53-46. While losing is never fun, Evans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 475th, while the Eagles are ranked 188th).
JaKayla Slater put forth a good effort for the losing side as she scored 16 points along with two steals. Another player making a difference was Carmen Roundtree, who scored 11 points along with seven rebounds and four blocks.
East Ridge has been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten contests, which provided a massive bump to their 12-8 record this season. As for Evans, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-17 record this season.
East Ridge might still be hurting after the 51-31 loss they got from the Trojans in their previous meeting back in November of 2022. Thankfully for East Ridge, Ty'asia Childs (who almost dropped a triple-double on 18 points, ten rebounds, and nine steals) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
