Softball Recap: Berlin/New Lebanon Takes a Loss

Berlin/New Lebanon came into this matchup off a tough 17-run loss on Monday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the Stillwater Warriors by a score of 10-8 on Wednesday. The Mountain Lions just can't catch a break and have now endured three defeats in a row.

Jaylynn Harmon ?26 was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: she tossed six innings while giving up just two earned (and eight unearned) runs off nine hits.

On the hitting side, Berlin/New Lebanon got a big performance out of Savannah Hammon ?29, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Ada Hotaling ?29, who went 3-for-4 with two RBI and one run.

Berlin/New Lebanon's loss dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Stillwater, the win got them back to even at 4-4.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Berlin/New Lebanon will challenge rival Emma Willard at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Stillwater is set to square off against their familiar foe Waterford-Halfmoon at 4:15 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (the Warriors have three straight victories, the Fordians have four straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
