Basketball Recap: Putnam Takes a Loss

Putnam was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 50-38 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bacon Academy Bobcats. The Clippers were probably out for revenge after losing 57-56 to them when the teams met back in February of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

When it comes to explaining why Putnam lost, don't look at JAMISON PROULX. Despite the final result, he went 6 for 12 on his way to 13 points and six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of NICHOLAS DEVLIN, who posted two points and nine rebounds.

Even though they lost, Putnam smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in four consecutive games.

Putnam's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Bacon Academy, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Putnam will take on Plainfield at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Bacon Academy, they will challenge Stonington at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
