Basketball Recap: Fall Mountain Gets the Win

Newport typically has all the answers at home, but on Friday Fall Mountain proved too difficult a challenge. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Newport Tigers, sneaking past 49-46. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 45-32 back in December of 2024.

Fall Mountain's win bumped their record up to 7-1. As for Newport, their defeat ended a seven-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 8-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Fall Mountain will venture away from home to face off against Hillsboro-Deering at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Newport, they will head out on the road to challenge Sunapee at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
