Norwich Free Academy has gone 8-2 against East Lyme recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Wildcats will head out on the road to square off against the Vikings at 4:00 p.m. Norwich Free Academy is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.9 runs per game this season.

Norwich Free Academy is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Connecticut's top teams: North Branford, who was ranked eighth at the time (Norwich Free Academy was ranked second). The Wildcats fell just short of the Thunderbirds by a score of 5-3 on Thursday. The Wildcats' defeat signaled the end of their nine-game winning streak.

Norwich Free Academy saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Autumn Romains, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one double. Another was Sophie Miner, who earned one RBI, one run, and one stolen base.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 16 runs the game before, East Lyme was a bit more limited in their match on Wednesday. They lost 12-1 to Haddam-Killingworth.

East Lyme dropped their record down to 4-10 with the loss, which was their sixth straight on the road. As for Norwich Free Academy, they suffered their first road defeat, dropping their record down to 12-3.

Everything went Norwich Free Academy's way against East Lyme in their previous meeting back in April, as Norwich Free Academy made off with an 11-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wildcats since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
