Minden took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Thursday. They blew past the Ord Chanticleers 3-0. The victory was familiar territory for the Whippets, who have now won eight contests in a row dating back to last season.
Minden never let Ord on the board, but things got pretty close in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 25-23, 25-16.
Myla Emery paced Minden's offense, picking up 19 kills. Emery got some help from Victoria Hansen and her 20 assists.
Despite the loss, Ord had strong showings from Brylie Collier, who had 24 assists and ten digs, and Payton Bruha, who had 20 digs.
Minden wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 2-0 win against Alma on the 30th. As for Ord, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-1 defeat against St. Paul on the 2nd.
