Basketball Game Preview: Camanche Indians vs. Maquoketa Cardinals

Camanche hasn't had much luck against Maquoketa recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Camanche Indians will head out on the road to challenge the Maquoketa Cardinals at 6:00 p.m. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Camanche comes in on six and Maquoketa on five.

Last Tuesday, Camanche got the win against Northeast by a conclusive 54-28.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Maquoketa faced off against Monticello on Tuesday. Maquoketa managed a 29-23 win over Monticello. Given the Cardinals' advantage in MaxPreps' Iowa basketball rankings (they are ranked 20th, while the Panthers are ranked 75th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Camanche is also on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a massive bump to their 12-7 record this season. As for Maquoketa, their victory was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 17-2.

Camanche took a serious blow against Maquoketa when the teams last played back in January, falling 60-22. Can Camanche avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
