Basketball Game Preview: Gridley Bulldogs vs. Las Plumas Thunderbirds

Gridley and Las Plumas are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2020, but not for long. The Gridley Bulldogs will be playing in front of their home fans against the Las Plumas Thunderbirds at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.

Gridley is likely headed into the contest with a focus on the second half, which is when things went downhill against Oroville on Tuesday. The game between Gridley and Oroville didn't end well, with Gridley falling 50-31. The Bulldogs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Las Plumas entered their tilt with Orland on Tuesday with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Trojans, sneaking past 47-44.

Las Plumas' win came from a few key players Gridley will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Ava Hepworth, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 17 boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Liliana Carrillo, who went 5 for 10 on her way to 13 points.

Gridley's defeat dropped their record down to 6-14. As for Las Plumas, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-7 record this season.
