Bartlett has gone 9-1 against West Chicago recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Hawks will venture away from home to challenge the Wildcats at 4:30 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Bartlett was handed a 11-run loss in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Wednesday. They skirted past Glenbard South 4-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Hawks have posted against the Raiders since April 4, 2022.
The team relied heavily on Josh Colaizzi, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Gio Scivittaro, who went 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI.
Meanwhile, West Chicago got themselves on the board against Fenton on Tuesday, but Fenton never followed suit. They put the hurt on the Bison with a sharp 10-0 victory. The win continues a trend for the Wildcats in their matchups with the Bison: they've now won six in a row.
The result came thanks to Ashton Aldaco's shutout, as he gave up just a hit and racked up 11 Ks. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up a single earned run in four consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Tommy Doyle was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Manny Figueroa, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three RBI and one run.
West Chicago's record is now 3-12. As for Bartlett, the victory snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 8-11-1 record.
Everything went Bartlett's way against West Chicago in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, as Bartlett made off with a 10-0 win. Do the Hawks have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Wildcats turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
