St. Xavier (Louisville, Ky.) 34-27 on Saturday.
The Fighting Crusaders were up 24-10 at the half after taking the lead on a
Keith Watkins Ii touchdown run in the second quarter.
Archbishop Moeller expanded its lead to 17 points entering the fourth quarter. AM scored two times in the third, including once on a touchdown run.
The Cincinnati school's most effective player was Watkins Ii. The senior running back ran for two touchdowns.
The Tigers'
Michael Ackerman was the standout player for his team. The sophomore wide receiver ran for three touchdowns and kicked two field goals.
The Fighting Crusaders also won the meeting between the two teams last season, 27-10.
The loss comes after St. Xavier defeated Doss 58-6 last week. With the win Archbishop Moeller extended its winning streak to four games.
In a non-conference game next week St. Xavier (3-2) takes on Central, and Archbishop Moeller (4-0) will go up against St. Xavier in a Greater Catholic - South game.
