Baseball Recap: Poca Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Buffalo, Poca was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Webster County Highlanders with a sharp 20-12 win. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Dots as it put an end to their five-game losing streak.

Colton Dunbar was a standout: he went a perfect 4-for-4 with four stolen bases, six RBI, and two runs. Those four hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Preston Bonnett, who got on base in all six of his plate appearances with five runs, three RBI, and one stolen base.

Poca always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .660. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Poca's win bumped their record up to 5-18. As for Webster County, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-10 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Poca will challenge Capital at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Webster County, they will face off against Mount View at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
