Soccer Game Preview: Heritage vs. Canyon Springs

The Heritage Patriots will square off against the Canyon Springs Cougars at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Things were looking good for Heritage after they put the first points on the board on Thursday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They fell 3-1 to Perris. While losing is never fun, the Patriots can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 1049th, while the Panthers are ranked 269th).

Meanwhile, Canyon Springs fell victim to Lakeside and their airtight defense on Saturday. They came up short against the Lancers, falling 3-0.

This is the second loss in a row for Heritage and nudges their season record down to 3-13-3. As for Canyon Springs, their loss dropped their record down to 7-5-7.
