Preview: Pen Argyl Green Knights vs. Catasauqua Rough Riders

Pen Argyl has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will take on the Catasauqua Rough Riders at 6:45 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Pen Argyl focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up eight on Monday.

Pen Argyl was handed a 32-point loss in their previous outing, but they didn't let that bad energy affect their game against Salisbury Township on Monday. Pen Argyl skirted past Salisbury Township 20-18. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory Pen Argyl has posted yet this season.

Pen Argyl's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jack Mclaughlin led the charge by scoring four points along with six rebounds and three steals. Another player making a difference was Jacob Martini, who scored nine points.

Catasauqua suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Thursday. They suffered a rough 52-30 loss at the hands of Saucon Valley. Catasauqua was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 33-12.

Pen Argyl's victory ended a eight-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-12. As for Catasauqua, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-8.

Pen Argyl didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Catasauqua in their previous matchup back in January of 2023, but they still walked away with a 35-29 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Pen Argyl since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
