Baseball Game Preview: Trinity Christian Academy Conquerors vs. Clay Blue Devils

Trinity Christian Academy has gone 8-1 against Clay recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Conquerors will face off against the Blue Devils at 7:00 p.m. Trinity Christian Academy is coming into the game hot, having won their last six games.

On Thursday, Trinity Christian Academy needed a bit of extra time to put away Oakleaf. They skirted past the Knights 4-3.

Aaron Watson tossed a big game, striking out ten batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits (and only one walk). He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than one earned run any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Gage Petrutz was excellent, scoring a run while going 4-for-5. Those four hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Brady Harris #2, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with one RBI.

Clay not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since March 5th. They blew past Bartram Trail 9-2. The result was nothing new for the Blue Devils, who have now won seven contests by six runs or more so far this season.

The team relied heavily on Easton McMahan, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. Clayton Hickey also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Trinity Christian Academy's win was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-3. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.9 runs over those games. As for Clay, their win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 14-8.

Trinity Christian Academy came out on top in a nail-biter against Clay in their previous meeting back in March of 2024, sneaking past 2-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Conquerors since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
