Recap: Poca The Dots vs. Sissonville Indians

The Poca The Dots's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fourth straight loss. They suffered a rough 69-45 loss at the hands of Sissonville. While losing is never fun, Poca can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' West Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 77th, while Sissonville is ranked 18th).

Several The Dots players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Chloe Wheeler, who scored four points along with seven rebounds and six assists. Wheeler has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last five times she's played. Another player making a difference was Shiloh Harding, who scored nine points.

Even though they lost, Poca were working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

It was another big night for Kynadee Britton, who went 6 for 10 from beyond the arc en route to 34 points and 4 assists for Sissonville. That makes it five consecutive games in which Britton has scored at least a third of Sissonville's points. Makaela Ullman was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with three steals.

Poca has been struggling recently, as they've lost seven of their last nine matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season. As for Sissonville, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 10-4.

Poca will head out on the road to challenge Nitro at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Nitro will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive. Sissonville will take on Winfield at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Winfield is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.
