Basketball Recap: Deltona Comes Up Short

Deltona was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss dating back to last season. They took a 56-39 bruising from the Eustis Panthers. The contest marked the Wolves' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Eustis' win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kyren Felix-Rodriguez, who shot 50% from the field to rack up 12 points and three steals. Thanks to that strong game, Felix-Rodriguez now owns an excellent 45.7% shooting accuracy. The team also got some help courtesy of Eric Glover, who posted 11 points.

Deltona's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Eustis, their victory was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-1.

Looking ahead, Deltona is taking a road trip to square off against Pine Ridge at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Eustis, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Citrus at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. The Panthers will be up against the Hurricanes' rather soft defense (which has allowed 65.83 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
