Softball Recap: Eastern Montgomery Comes Up Short

Eastern Montgomery was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat dating back to last season. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 7-6 heartbreaker at the hands of the Giles Spartans. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Spartans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 8-2 last Monday.

Macie Akers was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. Natalie Hall also deserves some recognition as she scored her first run of the season.

Eastern Montgomery's record now sits at 0-4. As for Giles, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Coincidentally, Eastern Montgomery and Giles will both be playing Auburn the next time they take the field. Giles will head out to face Auburn at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while Eastern Montgomery will host them at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
