Preview: Beekmantown Eagles vs. Moriah Vikings
The Beekmantown Eagles will head out on the road to take on the Moriah Vikings at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Moriah took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Beekmantown, who comes in off a win.
Beekmantown had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They enjoyed a cozy 49-30 win over Peru on Thursday.
Among those leading the charge was Grace McCasland, who scored 21 points along with six steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Payton Parliament, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 11 rebounds.
Meanwhile, things could have been worse for Moriah, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 44-27 loss to Schuylerville on Sunday. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Moriah came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 204th, while Schuylerville is ranked 420th).
Beekmantown's victory bumped their record up to 4-6. As for Moriah, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-4.
Beekmantown came up short against Moriah in their previous matchup back in January of 2023, falling 39-26. Can Beekmantown avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
