Softball Preview: Hagerstown Tigers vs. Shenandoah Raiders

Hagerstown is 0-6 against Shenandoah since May of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Hagerstown Tigers will head out on the road to take on the Shenandoah Raiders at 5:00 p.m. Hagerstown is coming into the contest hot, having won their last six games.

Last Thursday, Hagerstown earned a 7-2 win over Cambridge City Lincoln.

Rylan Young made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out six over seven innings pitched. Young has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't pitched less than six innings in four consecutive pitching appearances. Young was also big at the plate, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with a double and an RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Hannah Pyle, who went 3-for-4 with four RBI, a triple, and a run. Allison Stinson was another key contributor, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.

Meanwhile, Shenandoah was able to grind out a solid victory over Tri on Saturday, taking the game 8-5. The win made it back-to-back victories for Shenandoah.
