Basketball Recap: Burlington Comes Up Short

Burlington and Union Grove squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Burlington had to settle for second. They came up short against the Union Grove Broncos, falling 55-31. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Demons have suffered since January 10th.

Leading Union Grove to victory were Camryn Smith and Ashley Lamers. Smith shot 58% from the field on her way to 19 points, while Lamers dropped a double-double with 14 points and 15 boards. Lamers has been hot, having posted eight or more rebounds the last five times she's played. Samantha Hafferkamp was another key player, putting up 12 points.

Burlington now has a losing record of 12-13. As for Union Grove, the victory was the tenth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 24-2.

Burlington does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Union Grove has already played their next game (against Whitnall), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
