Mission Oak had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.3 runs) and they went ahead and made it five on Friday. They walked away with an 8-5 win over the Hanford Bullpups. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 11-2 last Wednesday.

Gage Hastin made a splash no matter where he played. He tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off four hits. He also tossed no walks, which is notable because Mission Oak is 2-0-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 5-7 otherwise. Hastin was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.

Hastin wasn't the only one making solid contact as seven players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Ben Romans, who scored a run while going 1-for-4.

Mission Oak kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 4.9 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 contests they've averaged 10.2.

The victory got Mission Oak back to even at 7-7-1. As for Hanford, their defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-7.

Looking ahead, Mission Oak will take on Porterville in a tournament on Monday. As for Hanford, they will welcome Clovis West at 10:00 a.m. on Monday. The Golden Eagles' pitching crew has only allowed three runs per game this season, so the Bullpups' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
