Basketball Recap: Tunstall Takes a Loss

Tunstall was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss. They fell 59-46 to the Wakefield Wolverines. While losing is never fun, the Trojans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 338th in Virginia, while the Wolverines are ranked 129th in North Carolina).

Dylan Goodknecht had an outrageously good game for Wakefield as he went 6 of 12 on his way to 18 points and five rebounds. Those 18 points gave Goodknecht a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Ethan Wisler, who posted 11 points.

Tunstall's defeat dropped their record down to 1-10. As for Wakefield, their record is now 7-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Tunstall will venture away from home to challenge Dan River at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Wakefield, they will head out to face off against Sanderson at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Sanderson will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Wakefield surely won't give up without a fight.
