Baseball Recap: Merrillville Comes Up Short

Merrillville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 5-2 to the Washington Township Senators. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Pirates of the 24-5 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2024.

Merrillville's defeat dropped their record down to 3-12. As for Washington Township, their win bumped their record up to 6-4-1.

Merrillville didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, an 11-2 loss against La Porte on the 6th. As for Washington Township, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, an 8-1 victory against Westville on the 7th.
