Basketball Recap: Linn Comes Up Short

After flying high against Vienna last Wednesday, Linn came back down to earth. The Linn Wildcats took a blow against the Tipton Cardinals on Saturday, falling 72-34. The defeat continues a trend for the Wildcats in their matchups with the Cardinals: they've now lost three in a row.

When it comes to explaining why Linn lost, don't look at Hannah Hackmann. Despite the final result, she posted 11 points. Hackmann continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last five games she's played. Another player making a difference was Paige Senevey, who put up six points and six rebounds.

Linn's loss dropped their record down to 7-2. As for Tipton, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-2.

Linn and Blair Oaks will round out the year against one another at at 6:00 p.m. on December 30th. As for Tipton, they will take on Benton in a tournament on Friday. Benton has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
