Herndon has been on a difficult stretch since their win on March 18. They fell just short of the Washington-Liberty Generals by a score of 1-0 on Wednesday. While losing is never fun, Herndon can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia soccer rankings (they are ranked 264th, while Washington-Liberty are ranked 86th).

Herndon's defeat dropped their record down to 1-8-3. As for Washington-Liberty, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Herndon will square off against Yorktown at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Washington-Liberty, they will face off against Langley at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Langley's last six contests have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
