Etna hadn't done well against Arcata recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Lions came out on top against the Tigers by a score of 6-1. The victory was nothing new for the Lions as they're now sitting on eight straight.

Emmett Stacher spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on one hit and racked up 17 Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Emmitt Griggs, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. Noah Hubbard was another key player, scoring a run and stealing four bases while going 1-for-3.

Etna's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-3. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Arcata, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-5 record this season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Arcata beat Etna by a score of 9-4 later that day.
