Football Recap: Mt. Enterprise Piles Up the Points Against Alba-Golden

Mt. Enterprise won the last time they faced Alba-Golden and things went their way on Thursday too. The Wildcats took their matchup with ease, bagging a 64-27 win over the Panthers. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Wildcats.

Mt. Enterprise's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kaegan Ash led the charge by rushing for 218 yards and three scores. Ash also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, forcing one fumble and making two total tackles. Joel Otwell also helped out as he racked up 149 rushing yards.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Mt. Enterprise was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 387 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 201 rushing yards in nine consecutive games dating back to last season.

Mt. Enterprise didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Yobany Rubio and Coy Freeman. Rubio is also on a roll when it comes to total tackles, as he's now made five or more in each of the last four games he's played dating back to last season. Mt. Enterprise received some extra help from Rubio, whose fumble return for a touchdown made for one of the most unforgettable moments.

Mt. Enterprise's victory bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Alba-Golden, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mt. Enterprise will challenge Maud at 7:00 p.m. on the 12th. As for Alba-Golden, they will take on Ore City at 7:00 p.m. on the 12th.
