Franklin was sadly handed a loss on Friday, but Caden Mason did his best to prevent it. Mason wasn't messing around, tossing six innings while giving up four earned (and two unearned) runs off eight hits. The pitching appearance was his third straight with two or fewer walks.

Even though Mason couldn't lead Franklin over Pisgah, he won't have to wait long to try again: the teams have a rematch scheduled at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Franklin will be headed into this one with a sizable disadvantage in the rankings (they're ranked 161 places lower in North Carolina), but they're not letting that get them down.
