Basketball Recap: Hogarth Kingeekuk Sr. Memorial Comes Up Short

In Thursday's Canine Competition, Hogarth Kingeekuk Sr. Memorial didn't have enough. They fell 61-53 to the White Mountain Wolves on Thursday. The Huskies were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Wolves earlier this season, when they won 52-50.

White Mountain's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kyri Adams led the charge by going 6-for-12 to rack up 17 points and four steals. Adams is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Lillian Lausten-Katongan, who posted 15 points and five rebounds.

Hogarth Kingeekuk Sr. Memorial has traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-4 record this season. The win was the fifth in a row for White Mountain, bringing their record for this year to 11-2.

Hogarth Kingeekuk Sr. Memorial does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for White Mountain, they and Shaktoolik will face off at 7:00 p.m. on Friday without much rest, having both just played. One thing working in Shaktoolik's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last eight contests.
