Softball Recap: Orangeburg Prep Starts Season with Victory Against Holly Hill Academy

Orangeburg Prep had to kick off their season on the road on Wednesday, but they showed no ill effects. They walked away with a 17-13 victory over the Holly Hill Academy Raiders. The Indians have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Raiders, too.

Prestan Schurlknight was a standout: she scored three runs and stole Three bases. while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances. Another player making a difference was HannaH LambrecHt, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances.

Having lost for the first time this season, Holly Hill Academy fell to 2-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Orangeburg Prep will host Laurence Manning Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Laurence Manning Academy will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Orangeburg Prep surely won't give up without a fight. As for Holly Hill Academy, they will look to defend their home field on Saturday against Charleston Math & Science at 12:00 p.m.
