Baseball Game Preview: Lompoc Braves vs. Righetti Warriors

Lompoc hasn't had much luck against Righetti recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. Lompoc will welcome Righetti at 4:30 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Lompoc 3.2, Righetti 3.9) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Lompoc's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They walked away with a 3-0 victory over Cabrillo. The game was the first time the Braves have beaten the Conquistadores on their field since April 14, 2022.

Not much got past Jack Jones, who gave up just four hits and racked up ten Ks to keep Cabrillo off the board. Jones has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up a single earned run in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Stone Kubasiewicz, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March of 2024. Cameron Baker was another key player, scoring a run while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

Meanwhile, Righetti unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. They fell just short of Arroyo Grande by a score of 9-7. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Warriors have suffered since May 10, 2024.

Righetti's loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 5-3. As for Lompoc, their win bumped their record up to 4-1.

Lompoc couldn't quite get it done against Righetti when the teams last played back in March of 2024 as they fell 7-2. Can Lompoc avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
