Basketball Recap: Capitan Takes a Loss

Capitan suffered their closest defeat since January 5, 2024 on Friday. They fell just short of the Moriarty Pintos by a score of 39-36. The Tigers' loss continues a trend for the squad, making it five in a row.

Moriarty found their leader in freshman Kylie McDonough, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 11 boards. Those 11 rebounds set a new season-high mark for McDonough. Another player making a difference was Jackie Rivas, who posted six points and 11 rebounds.

Capitan's defeat dropped their record down to 3-9. As for Moriarty, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-8.

Capitan didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 48-37 loss against Estancia on the 11th. As for Moriarty, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 28-21 win against Legacy Academy on the 11th.
