Baseball Game Preview: Teague Lions vs. Buffalo Bison

The Teague Lions will take on the Buffalo Bison at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

Teague is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering Fairfield just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 9-8.

Trip Egbert was huge no matter where he played even without the win. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 4.2 innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off two hits. Egbert was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 3-for-3. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in doubles (two).

In other batting news, Blake Maggard was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-5. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Brice Skinner was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

Meanwhile, Buffalo was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They took an 8-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of Groesbeck.

Teague's defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 9-5. As for Buffalo, their loss dropped their record down to 6-8.

Teague was able to grind out a solid win over Buffalo in their previous matchup on March 4th, winning 7-2. Will Teague repeat their success, or does Buffalo has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
