Basketball Game Preview: Churchland Truckers vs. Maury Commodores

Churchland hasn't had much luck against Maury recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Churchland Truckers will head out on the road to square off against the Maury Commodores at 7:00 p.m. One thing working in Churchland's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three games.

Last Monday, Churchland was fully in charge, breezing past Booker T. Washington 63-29. Given the Truckers' advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 29th, while the Mighty Bookers are ranked 328th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Maury beat Norview 62-50 on Wednesday.

Maury is also on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-3 record this season. As for Churchland, their win bumped their record up to 10-4.

Churchland came up short against Maury in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, falling 63-55. Can Churchland avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
