Baseball Recap: Eight Straight Home Wins for Madison-Grant

Madison-Grant won the last time they faced Delphi Community and things went their way on Saturday too. The Argylls blew past the Oracles 19-4. The result was nothing new for the Argylls, who have now won three contests by ten runs or more so far this season.

Xavier Yeagy made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching four innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. Yeagy was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in May of 2024.

In other batting news, Madison-Grant got a massive performance out of Brayson Martin, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with five RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Those four hits gave Martin a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Chad Lamb, who scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-4.

Madison-Grant always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .703. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Madison-Grant pushed their record up to 3-1 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.9 runs over those games. As for Delphi Community, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-3.

Madison-Grant has already played their next matchup, an 11-1 defeat against Lapel on the 15th. As for Delphi Community, they will square off against Rensselaer Central at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Bombers' pitching crew has only allowed 2.8 runs per game this season, so the Oracles' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
