Basketball Game Preview: Wagner Thunderbirds vs. Alamo Heights Mules

The Wagner Thunderbirds are taking a road trip to square off against the Alamo Heights Mules at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Wagner has 19 straight victories, Alamo Heights has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

Last Friday, Wagner was fully in charge, breezing past Boerne-Champion 75-22. The Thunderbirds have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 17 contests by 20 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Alamo Heights came up short against New Braunfels on Friday and fell 52-40.

Wagner pushed their record up to 28-3 with the win, which was their tenth straight at home. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 38.1 points. As for Alamo Heights, their loss dropped their record down to 12-18.

Everything came up roses for Wagner against Alamo Heights in their previous meeting back in January, as the squad secured a 79-21 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Wagner since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
