Basketball Recap: Mount Desert Island Skates Past Houlton with Ease

There's no place like home for Mount Desert Island, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Saturday. They breezed by the Houlton Shiretowners to the tune of 66-15 on Saturday. Given the Trojans' advantage in MaxPreps' Maine basketball rankings (they are ranked 16th, while the Shiretowners are ranked 81st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Mount Desert Island is also on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-7 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.5 points per game. As for Houlton, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-11.

Mount Desert Island wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 66-15 victory against Greater Houlton Christian Academy on the 1st. Houlton does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
